Barbie dress and hat can take her to a fancy restaurant or to church.
Or wherever you want to pretend she's meeting her boyfriend, Ken. She almost looks like she'd be ready for the fancy horse race in the spring too since everyone there fashionably still wears hats!
This dress is made from a tiny blue rosebud print and has elbow length sleeves trimmed in lace. There is lace trim down the bodice, at the neck, on the sleeve edges and at the hem. A narrow light blue ribbon runs down the front between the two rows of lace. Barbie's dress closes in back with hook and loop.
The lace at the neck makes it look very romantic. Barbie's hat will be a sinamay hat trimmed in the same color ribbon and rosebud as the dress. The one in the picture is one made from buckram but buckram and I do not get along well. I prefer to use purchased hats-much easier and it keeps your cost down. The sinamay hat looks very nice.
One of these days I will probably run out of the light blue rosebuds so I will then start using another petite print for this dress. When that happens, I will try and get a new picture up as soon as possible.
This dress is just one of my variations on a simple style of dress, which was also used for the Barbie dress in light blue pin dot . This is just one of my little collection of modest Barbie clothes and dresses.
Barbie will need to supply her own shoes--I'm sure you have lots of those floating around the house!
