Barbie Dress and Hat-for that extra dressy look.

Barbie dress and hat can take her to a fancy restaurant or to church--or wherever you want to pretend she's meeting her boyfriend, Ken. This dress is made from a tiny rosebud print and has elbow length sleeves trimmed in lace. There is lace trim down the bodice and at the hem. A narrow light blue ribbon runs down the front between the two rows of lace. Barbie's dress closes in back with hook and loop. The lace at the neck makes it look very romantic. Barbie's hat will be a sinamay hat trimmed in the same fabric as the dress or a complimenting solid color. The one in the picture is one made from buckram but buckram and I do not get along well. I prefer to use purchased hats-much easier and it keeps your cost down.

This dress is just one of my variations on a simple style of dress, which was also used for the Barbie dress in light blue pindot . In trying different accessories, I decided to trim a hat for this one. Barbie will need to supply her own shoes--I'm sure you have lots of those floating around the house!
