If the customer does not provide me a correct address and this results in a package being returned to me, then the customer's card will be charged for another shipping/handling fee and the order will be re-boxed and sent again.
If a customer has a PO box or an apartment mailbox, it is the customer's responsibility to check his/her mail and see if there is a notice from the Post Office that his/her package has arrived. Now the PO is showing that customers have around 10 days to pick up their mail. Please pick up your packages promptly when you receive the notice that they are at the PO. I track all packages so I know when they arrive!
If a package is returned to me because a customer has not picked it up, I will contact the customer to see if he/she still wants it. If the customer still wants their Barbie clothes, then the customer's card will be charged for another shipping/handling fee because I have to re-box and pack it for mailing.
If I receive customer's package back a second time, it becomes my property as I will consider it abandoned since the customer has had plenty of chances to pick it up at the PO and has not. There will be no refunds of any kind in this case--in clicking the box in my shopping cart you agree to all the terms of my site and this is definitely one of those terms. So....please pick up your packages at the PO when you receive your notice if you live in an apartment. I am guessing that people with PO boxes do pick their packages up regularly as that is how they get their other mail. Thanks for your cooperation.
If you refuse an order at the PO or from your carrier because you don't think you received it when you needed it, keep in mind that if you agreed for it to be sent, you are still liable for paying the return shipping to me. In other words, if you refuse a package at the PO thinking that will not cost you anything, I will deduct the shipping amount from any refund you may receive for the returned item. In fact returning items to me without my authorization may result in a much smaller refund because of my restocking fee.
| Needed-By Dates |
If a customer needs an item by a certain date, it is the customer's responsibility to email and let me know that. I have ample links where people can email me all over this site. They can also reply to their confirmation email.
When I am away from a computer or taking a break, I always announce this on the home page. It is the customer's responsibility to read my front page messages as well as those messages I place in the shopping cart which will let them know to expect a delay or what could be going on that will cause a delay. Customers always have the option to place the order when I return from my break. When I state I will not be sewing till a certain date, I start sewing on that date but there could be numerous backed up orders.
If you feel that your order has taken longer than usual to receive, it is probably because of a sewing break. Please please please---read my site and my messages. I have no way of knowing that you need something by a certain time unless you tell me. While I still couldn't guarantee you'd have it, possibly due to a lot of orders in front of you, at least communication has been established and I would have some idea. For anyone in a super hurry, I charge a nominal rush fee, which is built into the USPS Express shipping option. Also I am just a phone call away if you need assistance or have questions as to when to expect your order. Please remember, most of it is handmade (with the exception of the dolls and the Barbie undies) so anything worth having is worth waiting just a tad longer for.

If for some reason you decide your order didn't arrive soon enough, and you choose to refuse it at the Post Office, eventually it will return to me. I am happy to offer a refund BUT that refund will be in the form of a check, it will be minus a 20% re-stock fee AND it will also be minus any shipping or fees paid at the time of order. These are my terms so if you ever have any questions about them, please feel free to contact me. I feel I am being even more lenient than some businesses would be as some businesses do not even accept returns. I do not agree with accepting a return just because of "buyer's remorse" or you feel that the item didn't make it there in time, but I like to keep peace with my customers. If you wanted it to come faster once it got mailed, you should have ordered an expedited shipping method, checked the home page to see if I was on break when you ordered and also contacted me to see if your item could be made and gotten to you when needed. Priority usually takes 2-3 days, not guaranteed by the PO but this is the norm.
I hope this clears up any misunderstandings that may arise. I have taken a lot of these examples from incidents that have happened to acquaintances who told me about them so that I would be ready when or if such an incident occurred. | Delivery Confirmation |
All packages leaving my home have delivery confirmation on them. This enables me to sign up for emails from the USPS which tell me when packages are received. And I do sign up for these emails so just like Santa Claus, I am watching, haha. I know when your package comes sometimes even before you have gone to your mailbox. I thought maybe this would make some folks feel very reassured knowing that I do care about each and every package that leaves here and I am always glad to see that USPS email that assures me that delivery has occurred.
In fact, sometimes human error will cause a package to be scanned as "left notice" if the person wasn't home or for whatever reason--but not rescanned as "delivered". I like to follow these up with an email or call several days later if I have not received another email from the USPS saying "delivered." Most of the time, the person will tell me that yes, the package arrived just fine. Which just means the carrier or clerk forgot to scan that the package was redelivered or picked up. Don't be surprised if you ever would get an email or call from me asking if you got your package--it's just another one of my little personal touches that as a home business owner I like to offer.
